This 2006 54' Grand Banks Eastbay SX M/Y "STARDUST" is arguably the most highly upgraded and best maintained yacht of the Grand Banks 54 Eastbay SX fleet to date. The current owners took a very nice yacht and then spent another year of refit she was relaunched mid April 2019 as a complete remodel/refit. She was refit to the discriminating standards of a very experienced yachtsman who is an Ocean Engineer; their objective was to vastly improve on the Grand Banks Standard interior, implementing wonderful design improvements and features. This owner happened to previously own a sister ship of the same year and learned first-hand what would make these boats significantly better. Many thoughtful improvements enhance the accommodations, entertainment systems, cooking capability, self-sufficiency, navigation, safety and comfort of the vessel. This particular Grand Banks is a true collector’s item with the down east lines and the high quality equipment and features not known in this model. The boat is very stable at cruise speeds and is a joy to dock with dual engines bow and stern thrusters and a hand-held wireless remote Docking Master which allows single handed docking operations.

M/V STARDUST is the only Grand Banks 54 outfitted with low engine hours 660HP Cummins Diesels. Don’t let the lower horsepower fool you as the speed performance is approximately the same but the fuel consumption is dramatically lower than higher horse power Caterpillar engines.

The owner, having previously owned the same boat, same year but with the thirstier 800Hp Cat Diesels has produced impressive performance data showing comparisons of RPM, Speed and Fuel Consumption. For example, Cummins Engines at 2,000 RPM gave a significantly reduced fuel consumption of 43.8 GPH compared to the larger horsepower CAT engines at the same RPM, has a fuel consumption of 70 GPH. Similar fuel savings at all speeds is shown and available upon request. Bottom line is pretty much same speed performance and huge difference in fuel consumption.

M/V STARDUST has added ballast in several key locations which helps to balance out the boat and keep the bow in a proper running angle and offset the weight of the generator in the engine room which helps improve performance and stability.

The interior was reworked to greatly improve the Master Bed size and to add 2 Dual Stidd seats at the helm, much larger and more comfortable settee in the Salon, New Granite counters in the Galley and 2 full heads with separate shower, Tiled walls in the galley and tile floors in the showers enhance the luxury of this vessel. A stainless steel fixed frame cantilevered shade for the cockpit has been added as well thoughtful additions like a folding transom seat and other cockpit seating that has bright Sunbrella Dulce Oasis covered cushions. A clever acrylic dashboard was added to accommodate the large touch screen Garmin electronics, a new Garmin Radar as well as many other electronic enhancements.

The owner has decided to move to a much larger yacht which presents a golden opportunity for someone to reap the rewards of his endeavors.

layoutM/V STARDUST layout features 2 cabins, and two heads with separate shower stalls. The master
cabin is forward with a full-sized island queen berth enlarged from the original Grand Banks Berth
to be true queen dimensions with a hinged foot with storage underneath and a padded
headboard with reading lights and lighting sconces mounted on the forward bulkhead. Cedar-lined
hanging lockers located both port and starboard and various storage bins and drawers around the
cabin. An ensuite Master head with a Vacu-flush freshwater toilet, new granite counter with under counter china sink and a separate stall shower with new tiled floor there is substantial storage lockers.

The guest cabin resides to port with athwart ship twin lower berths; the cabin has been improved
with sound insulation padding added to the walls and is opposite the companionway from a head with new granite counter with under counter china sink, Vacu-flush freshwater toilet and a separate stall shower with new tiled floor and substantial storage lockers with sliding wood doors. Moving aft from the staterooms and heads, the area to Starboard of the galley was reworked from a desk to an attractive corner settee with ultra-leather covered cushions and significant size storage lockers under hinged seats and an exquisite custom made inlaid teak High/Low varnished
table with inlaid compass rose design within. A combo vented Washer/Dryer under and large storage above all enclosed in a lovely teak cabinet in the forward part of this area.
The down galley has beautiful newly installed granite countertops that wrap around into a U-shape with extra storage lockers and drawers above and below. The large blue porcelain sink is a very functional addition. This galley really works and benefits from the open overhead, allowing wonderful natural light and ventilation to fill the space. The Settee and table in the adjacent space to Starboard makes a great dinette for convenient breakfast or lunch service or for guests to hang with the cook in the galley opposite. Lighted glass cabinet suitable for glassware and bottle storage under the granite counters in the galley. Two each, two-drawer Isotherm Stainless Steel refrigerators are provided to aft, the unit to port has an integral freezer and ice maker in the lower drawer. The fridge to Starboard is two drawers refrigerator. Filtered fresh water is supplied to a faucet at the sink and to the icemaker. A  convenient tall-can trash locker is provided under the sink. A Force 10 Euro Kera 3-burner electric Ceran-top Stove with Oven is installed to Starboard with 2 teak storage drawers underneath.
Heading aft, up four steps (with large storage beneath)  from the galley is the salon and pilothouse area. To starboard is the helm station with Dual Stidd seat and newly installed exterior access door to the starboard side deck. Adjacent to port is an identical companion Dual Stidd seat. The chart table area has large storage underneath making a versatile space. The blue real leather sofa and custom teak base has been newly added for greater comfort and additional seating space, large
storage space is under the settee with drawer access. The Grand Banks folding leaf, teak, dining table is in an ideal location for dining while watching the TV to starboard. Across to starboard, a newly installed entertainment center with pop-up flat panel TV with storage in front for glassware and a newly added large locker for AV equipment and general storage to aft, the TV cabinet is flanked fore and aft with Teak chairs. The custom bar area aft to port behind the settee includes a locker designed to securely stow bottles with large storage beneath. All of the large salon windows
have brand new Oceanair shades and lovely curtain panels pulled to the side.
The salon features Centerline double opening doors to the cockpit that, when open, create a common indoor/outdoor entertaining area. The cockpit was designed to support outdoor living with a custom cantilevered cockpit shade for sun protection. Port and Starboard in the forward cockpit, has the original aft facing double bench seats covered in bright Dolce oasis Sunbrella that with the folding bench seat on the aft transom gives the area a cheery and bright feeling. The generous cockpit includes 3 large and deep lazarettes for storage. Steps with courtesy lighting provide easy access to the side deck allows crew to safely move about the entire boat. Newly
added Stainless Hand rails on the outside of the salon cabin provide safety when moving forward on the side decks. The cockpit transom door opens to the extra-large teak swim platform with 2 swim ladders. The swim platform is automated by the TNT hydraulic lift to moor the tender on its custom designed cradle. This design is optimal for handling the included large, tender and also makes an excellent recreation area. Two stainless steel swim ladders are mounted under the platform.
